Ruth Cutting, Headteacher at Olive Hill Primary School, talks about how OLEVI programmes have moved her school from RI to Good.

The OLEVI programmes, facilitated through The Earls Teaching School and partners, have played a key part in improving the quality of teaching and developing leadership atOlive Hill Primary as we moved from ‘Requires Improvement’ in January 2013 to ‘Good’ in January 2015.

The ITP provided excellent support and challenge which enabled committed teachers to rapidly improve their practice. The OTAP clarified and confirmed the role of teaching assistants in facilitating learning and it also ensured that teaching assistants are an intrinsic part of school-to-school partnership working. Leaders have benefited from the opportunities to reflect on outstanding teaching and leadership provided by OTP and OLE.

DR ICE has become embedded throughout the school and Olive Hill Primary now has the depth and breadth of leadership and quality of teaching which has improved achievement and continues to give us the capacity to improve.’

“The school’s leaders have been very successful in improving the quality of teaching and raising achievement since the last inspection.”
